Film Schools in New York

I'm from the New York Times, the supplement that is. Name's Burke. Jim Burke. So how was your casting Amy?
Awful. Oh please leave me alone. Why would you want to know about it?
Thought it was for CSI wasn't it? Was Gary around? I mean did you meet Mr. Sinise?
No he wasn't around. It was only a minor part. Just two or three takes. His character wouldn't have been involved. I really don't want to talk now.
But  Amy it's for the New York Times supplement. It's all about artists making their way through the subterranian, the unseen world of daily struggle before success finally comes.

If ever. I'm no longer very optimistic about it. So you prepare for your casting, you prepare your part before the mirror, you watch yourself speaking, arguing, begging, shouting, finally crying and you think you can do it. Moreover you think you're a pretty girl and at least that would give you some sort of credit. But then you come to that casting and the floor's full of pretty girls and they stare at you as though they're going to say 'What's that bum gonna do here? Does she really think they're looking for a hick?“ And then you go out and all you can think about is, they're going to hate you for stealing their time. And that's what they say or it's in their eyes at least.

But you still like what you're doing?
Like what I'm doing? I like it when I picture myself doing it. I Like watching films and imagine how I would have played the part. And it's quite clear and I act it out in front of my mirror and I know I could do it. Maybe I'm not pretty enough. Not pretty enough for CSI to investigate my corpse.
I agree that unfortunately there are many corpses in New York City the year round but perhaps there's more to do than arguing and being stabbed and looking pretty in premature death. You can do so much more.

You think so? I mean could they bear my face any longer than the few seconds row that precedes murder?
Absolutely. We live in the city with the strongest pulse ever throbbing through the boroughs. You should act it out in film schools in New York. The pulse I mean.
Yeah. I think I should do that. Thanks.
Thank you Amy.
